Remy Briand is responsible for research on all MSCI-branded products at MSCI Inc., a leading global provider of investment decision support tools, including indices and portfolio risk and performance analytics. In this capacity, Mr. Briand is in charge of the continual expansion, refinement and improvement of all MSCI indices. Mr. Briand is also leading the MSCI ESG Research business, which provides Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating and compliance products to investors globally.
Over his 20+ year career as an investor and a researcher, Mr. Briand has written extensively on investment topics such as global and emerging markets investing, asset allocation, and sustainability. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and contributor to financial news media.
Mr. Briand joined MSCI in 2001 as Head of the Benchmark Research Group focusing on research on equity indices. He joined MSCI from Credit Lyonnais Asset Management in Paris where he held the position of Head of Research. Prior to this role, Mr. Briand has been managing several European small cap funds. Mr. Briand began his career as a private equity analyst at Credit Lyonnais. Mr. Briand holds an MSc in Computer Sciences from INSA (Lyon) and an MBA from HEC (Paris).
